Liverpool: Met Cathedral, Tuesday work…and unforgiving architecture…

Dark and overcast in Liverpool this morning so the light in the Met Cathedral was not as good as initial painting last week. Still some good progress on the first of the three canvases and I started on the second, blocking out the main areas of colour.

The difference between painting landscapes and interiors is great, as architecture is far less forgiving than a line of trees. A vertical line in a building is a vertical line and if it isn’t stands out like a sore thumb….!

Tomorrow back to the Anglican Cathedral to work on its first two canvases.
